“When I created the course, I wanted to provide people expertise in not just the violin. I have only played for going on 3 years now, and my background is in project management. I connected my practice to my profession, and I always felt strong movement in my technique. I want the same for others.” – Fred Arnold, Creator of Project Manage Your Practice

I love playing for myself outside. It is what I do to relax and enjoy the day. I really never thought of combining project management and practicing before, but it has really turned my practice sessions into moments of discovery.
During COVID, I wanted to try a new hobby. When I started, I did not really know where to begin. I did not have the ability to do lessons with a teacher, so it was harder for me to get through hurdles. Learning how to outline practice sessions through a different lens really helped me succeed – specifically understanding project charters and practice logs and their role within the overall practice framework.
We are an older married couple who thought it would be good to try something new together. The violin was hard, but we had each others support. Going through Project Manage Your Practice really helped us get started on the right foot – it just felt right for us. We learned a lot about emotional intelligence and its connection to how people organize their lives. It actually helped us communicate better as a couple, too. Now we play duets together.
I was intrigued by the unique direction of this overall program. It was short, did not cost a lot of money, and really helped me think about practice in a different way. I did not realize how much emotional intelligence played a role in effective practice, and now that I think about it consistently, I see myself practicing more. This is the first time a violin course did not just go over the standard violin requirements. There was not much about technique, tone, or any of what you would expect. However, when a teacher tells you to practice and practice efficiently, this course gives you a pathway to understanding that request.
I created and wrote the course for Project Manage Your Practice. Through out the process of developing everything, I became stronger at the consistency and capability of my own practice. Building this was an exercise in and of itself – it brought together many different aspects of my experience to help me obtain a consistent progression in my playing.
Not only is this course excellent to help learn skills for pursuing structured practice with the Violin. But the lessons can be applied to many aspects of life and goals you pursue. I found the course to be insightful and useful in many aspects other than studying and practicing a instrument. From the emotional intelligence and personality traits to building proper structure to learning new skills and pursuing your goals. The course has a vast array of knowledge and lessons for a very affordable price and I highly suggest everyone gives it a look.
